It all starts
in the mind.

How our invention took shape.

The Khadas Mind resting in one hand

The belief

A computer must think with you.

Your computer is your second brain, and its limitations quietly set the pace of everything you make. When it lags, you wait, but when it keeps up, it seems to disappear and all that is left is the work, or the fun! We have spent years chasing that second feeling: a machine fast enough to move at the speed of a thought, and humble enough to get out of its own way by only keeping what you need in each moment.

The idea

The brain stays. The body changes.

Your morning is quiet thinking, your afternoon is heavy lifting, and your evening walks you out the door. Most computers ask you to choose just one of those lives and settle into it, then sell you a second machine for the next one. The Mind refuses that bargain.

Instead of switching between different machines for different types of work, it keeps the brain you have set up exactly so, and changes only the body around it. Rest it on the Dock and your desk wakes up. Slide it into Graphics and it becomes a workstation. Fold it into xPlay and it leaves with you, every file and window waiting precisely where you left them.

A close study of the Khadas Mind

Our story

It began with a single board.

Khadas started in 2016 with a small circuit board and a stubborn idea: that the people building the future should be able to open their computers up and make them their own. That first single-board computer found its way to makers, students, and engineers around the world, and they taught us what an honest tool feels like.

The Mind itself was funded by the very people it was built for, backers who believed in a modular workstation before one existed. The Mind is where a decade of that comes together; the Maker's spirit, grown into a whole personal computer.

What we hold to

Made with makers

Hi-fi audio boards, operating systems that install in minutes, expansion modules: each one grew out of listening to our Maker community.

Built to be kept

A fifth of our earnings goes to recursive R&D, so the machines we sold years ago still get the updates we ship today.

Grows with you

We keep expanding the Mind Set ecosystem, so your computer can keep growing with you instead of needing to be replaced.
